Program setup

Sustainable MBA in One Day has been carefully put together to inform the participants in a very short time about the most relevant theories and practical experiences within the sustainability world. During this day we prepare the participants to use their gained knowledge in their own daily practice.

Teachers
Sustainable MBA in One Day is provided by sustainability experts and senior lecturers Annick Schmeddes and Paul van Ruiten.

Annick Schmeddes is founder of Sustainable Talent. She has been working in career coaching, recruitment and selection of sustainable professionals for fifteen years. In 2017 Annick was number 50 in the Sustainable Top 100.
Paul van Ruiten is the founder of Bureau OM. Previously, Paul worked as Director Account and Environment at DCMR Milieudienst Rijnmond. In addition, Paul is a former director of Environment and Sustainability at Royal Haskoning DHV and TNO.

The day is divided into the following two themed blocks:

  • Making the Sustainable Development Goals applicable within your organizational strategy
  • Systems thinking from guru Peter Senge
  • (market) Transition management by Jan Rotmans and Lucas Simons
  • Personal leadership seen from leadership coaches Daniel Pink, Marshall Goldsmith and of course Pieter Winsemius

What will participants do themselves?
After the theory and practical case, we work together to formulate an action plan for our own organization. On the basis of the theories of guru Simon Sinek, you guarantee this down to team level.

Afternoon: Sustainability made concrete with a.o.

  • The essence of a Circular Economy according to architect Thomas Rau
  • The strategy behind Kate Raworth’s ‘Donut Economy’ model
  • How to effectively tackle climate change based on Paul Hawken’s ‘Drawdown’

What will participants do themselves?
Getting started with the question about what they will do in concrete terms with the sustainability knowledge provided during this day. How can they make what they have learned applicable in their own organization?

Also included:
